Privacy Policy

What information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address, which we use to identify your account and contact you.
• Your first and last name, used to address you in the site and in emails.
• A password, which is stored only as a salted cryptographic hash. We never store, and cannot recover, your actual password.

If you sign in with Crowdpurr instead, we receive your email address and name from your Crowdpurr account rather than collecting them again.

As you use the site, we record which games you download and when, so we can apply your download allowance and show you your history. If you subscribe, our payment processor records your billing details and we store only the identifiers needed to link your account to your subscription.

We do not collect information from you as a visitor beyond what is described here, and you can browse the entire library without an account.

How we use your information

• To create and administer your account, and to sign you in.
• To verify that you own the email address you signed up with.
• To apply your download allowance and deliver the files you request.
• To process your subscription payments and send billing notices.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To improve the site and understand which games people find useful.

Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in forms against cross-site request forgery. These are strictly necessary for the site to work — without them you could not stay logged in.

We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not allow third-party behavioural tracking. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent before setting any such cookie and update this policy first. You can disable cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in or download games.

Third parties we share information with

We do not sell or trade your personally identifiable information. We share it only with the providers needed to run the service, each of whom is bound to keep it confidential:

• Our payment processor, which handles subscriptions and card details.
• Our email provider, which delivers verification, password reset, and account mail.
• Our hosting and storage providers, which serve the site and your downloads.

We may also release information where we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or others.

We may occasionally link to third-party sites. Those sites have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility for their content or activities.

How we protect your information

All traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Download files are held in private storage and served through short-lived links tied to your account rather than being publicly reachable. Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to operate the service.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your choices

• You can browse the entire library anonymously, without an account.
• You can view and change your name and email at any time from your account page, and delete your account from the same page.
• You can unsubscribe from any non-essential email using the link at the bottom of it.

Accounts that are created but never verified are removed automatically after 7 days, along with the information collected at sign-up.

California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

• Users can visit our site anonymously.
• A link to this Privacy Policy appears in the footer of every page, and includes the word “Privacy”.
• Users will be notified of any changes to this policy.
• Users can change their personal information by signing in to their account, or by emailing us.

Do Not Track

We honour Do Not Track signals. We do not track, plant advertising cookies, or serve advertising when a Do Not Track browser mechanism is in place. We also do not allow third-party behavioural tracking.

Children

We do not market to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact help@trivialibrary.com and we will delete it.

Data breaches

Should a data breach occur, we will notify affected users by email and by a notice on the site within 7 business days. We also agree to the individual redress principle: you have the right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law.

CAN-SPAM Act

We collect your email address in order to send account and service messages, respond to your enquiries, and — where you have not opted out — send occasional updates about new games and features.

To be in accordance with CAN-SPAM we agree to the following:

• Not to use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.
• To identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.
• To include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.
• To honour opt-out and unsubscribe requests quickly.
• To allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email.

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from future emails, use the link at the bottom of any message or email help@trivialibrary.com and we will promptly remove you from all correspondence. We will still send messages necessary to operate your account, such as password resets and billing notices.

GDPR compliance — reviewing, exporting, and removing your data

Per General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance and our own policy, you are always free to review, export, and remove all of your personal information — including deleting your account entirely — at any time.

• Review. Your account page shows the personal information we hold: your name, email address, plan, and download history.
• Export. Email help@trivialibrary.com and we will send you a copy of your account data.
• Remove. You can delete your account from your account page, provided you have no active subscription. Deletion signs you out everywhere and closes the account; email help@trivialibrary.com if you would like your record erased entirely.

We do not transfer your personal information to any party that is not required to operate the service, and we do not sell it under any circumstances.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we will notify users of material changes.
