Before They Were Famous

Formed by John Lennon in Liverpool in 1956, The Quarrymen would eventually become The Beatles. After a few iterations and the addition of key members such as Paul McCartney and George Harrison, The Quarrymen changed their name first to Johnny and the Moondogs, then to The Silver Beetles, and finally, they settled on The Beatles. 

Pepsi, now one of the leading brands in the global soft drink market, was originally called "Brad's Drink" when it was created by Caleb Bradham in 1893 in New Bern, North Carolina. Based on a recipe that included kola nuts, vanilla, and rare oils, it was marketed as a healthy cola that helped in digestion and increased energy.

During early development stages, the hit TV sitcom "Friends" was almost called "Insomnia Cafe" and "Six of One." Debuting in 1994, "Friends" quickly became one of the most beloved TV shows of all time, following the lives of six young adults living in Manhattan. 

FUN FACT

Because of his experiences with the Boy Scouts, Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg depicted a young Indiana Jones as having the rank of Life Scout in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989).

In "The Big Chill" (1983), Kevin Costner originally played the role of Alex Marshall, the deceased friend whose death brings the old college group back together for the film's events. However, all of Costner's flashback scenes were cut from the film, and all that remained were the opening scenes of him as a corpse being prepared for burial.
