Canada Day!

Canada Day, originally known as "Dominion Day", is celebrated on July 1st. The day marks the anniversary of the Constitution Act of 1867, which united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia into a single Dominion called Canada.

Poutine is a delicious Canadian comfort food that has hailed from Quebec since the 1950s. Typically, it's composed of three main ingredients: hot, crisp French fries topped with fresh cheese curds, all smothered in a rich, savory gravy.

However, steak is not part of the traditional poutine recipe.

Bachman–Turner Overdrive, often abbreviated as BTO, became wildly popular in the 1970s with hits like "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", and "Takin' Care of Business".  "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" was initially invented as a fun, affectionately playful track for the band manager's brother, who struggled with a stutter.

With a staggering population of 500,000 to 1,000,000, there are more moose in Canada than anywhere else in the world. They inhabit every province and territory except Prince Edward Island.

While Canada holds the largest share of the global Canada Goose population, China holds the record for the most geese overall. Russia has the largest overall lynx population. Australia has the largest fox population.

FUN FACT

While ice hockey is well-known globally as one of Canada's national sports, Canada's other national sport is lacrosse. Lacrosse has historical significance as one of the oldest organized sports in North America.
