Deep Sea Oddities

Flotsam and Jetsam are the sinister moray eels who serve as henchmen to the sea witch Ursula in Disney's 1989 film "The Little Mermaid". These two cunning creatures are notable for their eerie synchronized movements and unsettling dual-tone voices.

An octopus is a fascinating marine animal with three hearts and eight tentacles, which are more accurately referred to as arms. All eight limbs of an octopus are relatively similar in length, highly flexible, and lined with sensitive suckers.

The deep-sea octopod known as the "Dumbo octopus" has large, ear-like fins similar to those of the classic Disney elephant character, which they use to gracefully navigate through the depths of the ocean. The species lives in cold, abyssal depths ranging from 3,300 to 23,000 feet.

Coral, although it may look like a plant due to its branching and colorful appearance, is actually an animal.

It consists of small, colonial marine invertebrates called polyps, which are related to jellyfish and sea anemones. 

Narwhals are often referred to as the "unicorns of the sea" due to the long, spiral tusk protruding from their heads, which is actually an elongated upper left canine tooth.
