In the 2019 live-action remake of "Aladdin," the Genie was played by Will Smith.

Niki Caro, the director of 2020's live-action remake, explained the omission as her wanting the film to focus on Mulan's connection with her fellow soldiers, making the story more realistic and grounded.

The Disney live-action remake of "Sleeping Beauty" (1959) was released with the updated title "Maleficent" (2014) as it retells the story from her perspective as the villain, providing a backstory to the character famously seen in the 1959 animated classic.

Emma Watson is well-known for her role as Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" film series. She portrayed the bookish and intelligent Gryffindor, Hermione, from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in 2001 to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2" in 2011.
