"Nothing Compares 2 U" became synonymous with Sinéad O'Connor after she released her powerful version in 1990. Originally penned by the legendary musician Prince in 1984, it was initially performed by his side project, The Family. 

Written by Dolly Parton, the song "I Will Always Love You" gained monumental fame when Whitney Houston performed it for "The Bodyguard," a 1992 film where she made her acting debut alongside Kevin Costner. Her version of the song became one of the best-selling singles of all time.

The Johnny Cash cover of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt" in 2002 was included on his album "American IV: The Man Comes Around." Interestingly, the single featured a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" as a B-side.

Alien Ant Farm gained widespread attention with their high-energy rock rendition of Michael Jackson's iconic hit, "Smooth Criminal." Ike & Tina Turner won a Grammy Award in 1972 for their energetic and soulful rendition of "Proud Mary." Originally a hit for Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1969, Tina Turner's version became legendary for its dynamic arrangement, starting slow and peaceful, then bursting into a fast-paced rock n' roll groove.
