Groundhog Day: Stuck on Repeat

In the United States and Canada, the tradition of Groundhog Day is celebrated on February 2nd each year. Legend has it that if the groundhog emerging from his burrow sees its shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter; if not, spring will arrive early. The most well-known celebration takes place in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, with a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil. 

The famous refrain is originally from the fairy tale "Snow White", written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812. The story revolves around a jealous queen who seeks to get rid of her stepdaughter Snow White, because her beauty surpasses her own.

In Martin Scorsese's 1976 psychological drama "Taxi Driver", Robert De Niro's character, Travis Bickle, says the memorable line, "You talkin' to me?" to his own reflection in a mirror, contributing to one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history.

De Niro actually improvised the dialogue, inspired by a line spoken onstage by Bruce Springsteen at a concert.

In the classic nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle", the verse "The cow jumped over the moon" is a whimsical depiction that has charmed listeners for generations. This nursery rhyme has been in circulation since at least the 16th century, with the earliest recorded version appearing around 1765. 

The iconic bubblegum pop song "Sugar, Sugar" was recorded by The Archies, a fictional band based on "Archie Comics". Despite being released by a cartoon band, "Sugar, Sugar" ranked as Billboard's No.1 song of 1969.
