"Ice Ice Baby" was the debut single for rapper Vanilla Ice.

In 1990, it became the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was built around a sample of Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure", which later led to a copyright settlement.

Janet Jackson released the chart-topping hits "Escapade" and "Black Cat" in 1990 as part of her fourth studio album "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814".

"Rhythm Nation 1814" became the first album to produce No.1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in three separate calendar years.

Previously performing in the band Bond Jovi, Jon Bon Jovi released his debut solo single "Blaze of Glory" in July 1990. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

It was recorded for the 1990 film "Young Guns II", where Bon Jovi provided much of the film's soundtrack after meeting actor Emilio Estevez.

Alannah Myles won the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for her 1990 hit song "Black Velvet". The song, a tribute to Elvis Presley, became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

"Twin Peaks" was an iconic mystery television series created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. It originally aired from 1990 to 1991 and has garnered a cult following over the years. An instrumental version of Julee Cruise's "Falling" was used as the show's theme.
