FUN FACT

In the “Here’s Johnny!” scene from "The Shining" (1980), the original prop door had to be replaced with a real one because Jack Nicholson was breaking through it too quickly with his axe, thanks to his prior experience as a fire marshal.

Tim Burton's "Batman" (1989) is remembered for Jack Nicholson's Joker role and look. A look that was determined by Jack Nicholson because he is allergic to spirit gum so he had final say on all makeup used on the character.

In one of the most memorable exchanges in cinema history in 1992's "A Few Good Men", Tom Cruise confronts Jack Nicholson over the mysterious death of Private Santiago by telling him, "I want the truth!" To which Nicholson replies, "You can't handle the truth!"

Boston, Massachusetts is the setting of "The Departed" (2006) where Jack Nicholson plays Frank Costello, a gangster based on real life kingpin Whitey Bulger.

FUN FACT

The 2003 teaming of Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson in 2003's "Anger Management" was reinterpreted for a television series of the same name in 2012 with Charlie Sheen in the Jack Nicholson role. It was Sheen's first role since leaving "Two and a Half Men" (2003), and made it to 100 episodes on FX before being canceled.
