FUN FACT

"Edward Scissorhands" (1990) is the only film in which Vincent Price and his daughter, Victoria, both appear, though they do not share any scenes. Price's role was originally much larger but the actor was suffering from both emphysema and Parkinson's disease during filming, so his screen time was cut down considerably.

It took twenty-five years to bring "Sweeney Todd" (2007) to the screen, as composer Stephen Sondheim long resisted offers to adapt his gothic tale. It wasn't until he saw Tim Burton's vision for the film that he allowed production to proceed. Sondheim later indicated that of all the screen adaptations of his works, "Sweeney Todd" is the only one he approves of.

Starting with 1985's "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," up through 2005's "Corpse Bride," all of Tim Burton's films were scored by Danny Elfman except one: Burton's 1994 film "Ed Wood," which featured a score by Howard Shore.

To date, Tim Burton has directed three films featuring "Big" in the title: "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" (1985), "Big Fish" (2003), and "Big Eyes" (2014).

Perhaps best known to film audiences as principal Ed Rooney in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986), Jeffrey Jones worked on a number of Tim Burton projects. The two first collaborated on 1988's "Beetlejuice."
