Madonna is the world's number one selling female in music of all time.

As of 2025, Madonna has nine albums at the top of the Billboard 200 charts, with 1984's "Like a Virgin" being the first. "Like a Prayer" was released in 1989.

Adele's album "21" has achieved significant commercial success since its release in 2011, having spent twenty-four weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, which is the longest for any album in the 21st century thus far. The album featured hit singles like "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You". 

U2, formed in 1976 in Dublin, has had eight albums reach the top of the United States Billboard 200. The band's 1987 album "The Joshua Tree" rocketed them to superstar status, featuring classic hits like "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "With or Without You."  In 2005, U2's "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" (2004) won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

"Songs in the Key of Life" by Stevie Wonder is often regarded as one of the greatest albums in music history and features iconic tracks like "Sir Duke" and "Isn't She Lovely."

As of 2025, George Strait holds the record for the most albums at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Often referred to as the "King of Country," Strait has received numerous awards throughout his incredible career and in 2006 he was selected for the Country Music Hall of Fame.
