Top-Grossing Comedies

According to Box Office Mojo, "The Hangover Part II" holds the title for biggest opening weekend box office for a comedy. 

"Mary Poppins Returns" (2018) was released fifty-four years after the original film.

FUN FACT

With "Mary Poppins Returns," Dame Angela Lansbury and Dick Van Dyke (both age 91 during much of the filming) set the records for oldest performers to appear in a Disney film.

In 2021's "Hi, Mom," a woman travels back in time to befriend her own mother in an attempt to make her life better. The film, which is the second highest-grossing film all-time in China, is also the highest-grossing film ever by a solo female director.

Twelve years before winning an Oscar for "Bohemian Rhapsody" (2018), Rami Malek made his feature film debut as Ahkmenrah in "Night at the Museum." He reprised the role for the film's two sequels, and will be voicing the character in the animated spin-off, "Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again."
